In my first field report, I wrote about how much of a whirlwind the build up to the start of the program had been and I can say now that it still hasn’t slowed down! But now that we now have all our 50 young people signed up and into the program, we are now ready and raring to go.

Kara and myself have been driving all over Adelaide to meet more and more young people and learn their stories and recruit them into Sticking Together. But after putting so many kms on our cars and coffees in our bellies we have made it to 50! And we are both so excited to be able to work with each and every one of these young people for the next 60 weeks, walking alongside them to achieve their goals in and outside of work.

Back at the Marion office, we have been running our own special Sticking Together job club for some of our young people there. This has been such a fun experience, really getting to know these young people and help start preparing for the working world. A big focus has been on goal setting and how to best work towards achieving these goals. To help realise and visualise the life goals of our young people, Kara and I ran a special Vision Boarding session. Aside from it being a lot of fun (because who doesn’t love some arts & crafts time) it was very enlightening learning about all the awesome things our young guys want to achieve in their lives! Such as travelling overseas to places such as Japan, the US and Europe. Or being able to buy a super hot (and fast) car! Or even working on their own inner qualities such as confidence, happiness and intelligence. It is so important to have dreams which inspire us to succeed in life and we know that all of young people can achieve these dreams by persevering and working hard!

I think this is all proof that neither the coaches or our awesome young people will be slowing down any time soon. It is definitely going to be an exciting and interesting 60 weeks!
